The Greg Phillips trio has had many incarnations over the past decade. It started as Greg Phillips (drums/vocals), Craig Carr (bass/vocals) and Todd Kreuzburg (guitar/vocals) doing every Monday at the now defunct Mums on the city dock in Annapolis, MD. I took over for Todd in 1994. We started doing some other regular gigs around MD with Anthony Setola (also from non-fiction) on bass. Sadly, Craig passed away in the summer of 2000. There is a live MP3 of the trio (with Craig singing) doing Synchronicity II from the Police on the downloads page. The trio is still playing occasionally, however, I rarely have time to do gigs with them. Some of the other musicians that play or have played with the trio are: Dana B., Brian Goddard, Larry Melton... There were few gigs where Todd and I rotated between bass and guitar. The music varies depending on who's playing that night, anything from Jeff Beck and the Meters to Zeppelin and the Beatles. Greg was a member of Starpoint (Elektra/Warner Bros.) and is currently working with international jazz and blues artists Najee and Angela Bofil. I have also worked with Greg in several other projects; Guitars from Mars, Orlando Phillips Band, Van Dyke and Glaser to name a few. To read more about Greg check out his site. |
