Warren Zanes was best know as the guitarist for the Del Fuegos. Several years ago, he recorded a great roots/pop album for the Dust Brothers (producers for Beck, the Beastie Boys, Rolling Stones and many more...) and their label Ideal Records. with a host of great musicians including Billy Conway of Morphine, Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris among others. Warren Zanes' finished CD got caught in a legal tangle, this time involving the Dust Brothers and Ideal Record's parent company, Disney. For two years, the tapes were locked away. Starbelly's Greg Schroeder, Dennis Schocket and I began working with Warren as his touring band in Feb of 2002. Playing dates from Boston to South by Southwest in Austin while warren shopped for a new label. The record was then picked up and released by Dualtone records this past spring. He has since been supporting the Pernice Brothers, Jason Mraz and the Wallflowers on the road. We occasionally still do random gigs with Warren as time permits. He is a busy guy who, in between bands, has received two Masters and a PhD and just finished a book on Dusty Springfield's "Dusty in Memphis".
